The Global AIDS Alliance Fund was founded in May 2007 to help accelerate an end to global HIV/AIDS and extreme poverty. We conduct public education and media outreach to raise awareness, and engage in citizen-based advocacy and lobbying to hold government leaders accountable for concrete action.
Initially, we are focusing our efforts on the 2008 presidential campaign, which offers a critical window of opportunity to ensure that the next President understands the importance of strong US leadership in the fight against global AIDS. Over the last several months, we have engaged in a range of grassroots organizing, media outreach, and lobbying efforts to hold the candidates accountable for making concrete pledges to scale up the US response to the pandemic. To date, these efforts have focused on New Hampshire, Iowa, and South Carolina, but we welcome the support of concerned citizens and activists everywhere.
